1. For anyone that doesn't already know, Britton has a little security blanket he calls "bink." First off, I think "bink" to most people means pacifier, so we get some crazy looks when my almost 4 year old refers to bink in public. Bink has apparently taken on life in the recent months because Britton refers to bink as "him." He's VERY attached to bink, and we know if he ever goes MIA, no one at the Garcia house will be sleeping. EVER AGAIN. Seriously - I have nightmares about losing our beloved bink. He really only needs bink at naps and bedtime, when he sucks his thumb and holds bink. He says he "scratches" bink, which we find funny, but whatever. Apparently bink is a much better comfort when he's cold, so bink finds his way into my freezer several times a day (you can imagine how long it took me to find him there the first time). As you might have guessed, he isn't real interested in sharing bink, but on a rare occasion, bink finds himself in Leyton's lap. So the other day, Britton had given Leyton bink in the car because Leyton was crying. Leyton spit up, and I guess a little got on bink. So as I was rocking Britton before bed that evening the following conversation ensued:
Britton: MOMMY! Bink smells like the wrong kind of cheese!
me: CHEESE?!?
Britton: (whining loudly now) Yes! CHEESE! He's supposed to smell like one kind, and Leyton made him smell like a different kind of cheese!
me: CHEESE?!? (still completely dumbfounded by the cheese comment)
Britton: He needs a bath.
It was all I could do to get out of his room before I lost it. I was laughing so hard I couldn't even tell PJ what was so funny.
2. Britton has taken to NOT napping at school anymore (or very rarely). Everyday, I ask, did you nap at school today? Generally, the response is, "no, I just rested quietly." Which in and of itself cracks me up. But the other day I asked why not, and he looked at me very calmly and replied, "Because Mommy. It's just not interesting." Um, ok. How do I respond to that?
3. This morning he was asking me about coffee shops, and where we got "cappuccino" (which I found amazing that he could pronounce correctly). I told him he was such a big boy for saying such a big word, and I said, "can you say non-fat, no-foam latte?" Just kidding around to see what he'd say. He stopped, thought about it for a minute and said, "Mommy, can you say Hi Bob?" WHAT???
I'm sure there are a zillion other funnies, but that's all I have time for right now - Leyton is waking up from his nap...
Here's a rare pic of Britton sharing bink with Leyton. It's the off-white ratty looking thing on his lap. :)
Britton loves to practice writing his name... The 'i' for some reason is bit tricky, but other than that, he's got it!
